Leavenworth is a very desirable place to live. It is one of Washington State's most scenic cities, with a wide variety of events and activities for all seasons and for people of all ages. The city is within commuting distance of Wenatchee, which is twenty-two miles east, and is about a 2.5-hour drive from Seattle, making it close enough for a weekend destination from the Puget Sound area.

The most affordable housing is typically the smaller, older homes in the city, many of which are nearly one hundred years old.

Since 2007, prices have decreased but housing remains expensive in Leavenworth, relative to the rest of Washington State.

The median price of a home in Leavenworth is about $300,000, which is considerably more than Wenatchee, a much larger nearby city, which is at about $200,000. Nevertheless, Leavenworth is a fantastic place to buy a home!
